This module introduces key concepts of gender-based violence (GBV), including sexual abuse, harassment, and exploitation, within schools. It highlights forms of GBV, those at risk, and related social risk factors, as well as the effects of violence on children. Participants will learn how to recognize, respond to, and report incidents while applying safeguarding requirements to create safe and supportive learning environments.

Participants will learn how to adopt healthy lifestyle practices, including good nutrition, proper hydration, regular medical check-ups, exercise, and adequate rest. The course also emphasises the important role teachers’ play in modelling healthy behaviours.
In addition, the course highlights strategies for promoting learners’ health and wellbeing, such as encouraging proper nutrition, maintaining hygiene, ensuring a clean school environment, monitoring food vendors, and sensitising parents on important health interventions, including vaccination against Measles.

This module explores the importance of work ethics and professional conduct in the workplace. You will learn about the principles of ethical behavior, workplace expectations, and the code of conduct that governs professional environments. Topics include Work Ethics, Misconduct, Guidelines on Discipline in the Service, Disciplinary Measures and Leave Type.

This course equips teachers and school staff with essential knowledge of the rules, regulations, and policies that guide effective school operations. Key areas include attendance and punctuality, professional conduct, adherence to the code of conduct, and safeguarding learners. Participants will learn to maintain accurate lesson notes and records, manage class registers and attendance, document continuous assessment, and submit timely reports.
The course also covers classroom management, emphasizing proper preparation, structured routines, constructive discipline, and inclusive teaching practices. Participants will understand the importance of fostering strong professional relationships with colleagues, school management, and parents. Additionally, the course highlights the teacher’s role as a model of good character and professionalism and encourages Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a pathway to growth.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to uphold professionalism, maintain effective records and reporting systems, follow school rules, and demonstrate proactive attitude, promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
